Perfect place for Christmas shopping!

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Streatham & Clapham Christmas fair on Thursday. We are pleased to announce that Turtle & Teal is at The Friends of Dulwich College Christmas Fair on Sunday 26 November, 11.30am-4pm. It’s always a wonderful event with businesses selling gorgeous gifts, jewellery, clothes, toys and food & drink including a street food market. There is plenty for children too including Santa’s Grotto, games and activities. You can find the Turtle & Teal stall in the Christison Main Hall. We look forward to seeing you!

We are looking forward to taking a stall at the shopping evening on Thursday 16 November at Streatham & Clapham High School, 42 Abbotswood Road SW16 1AW. Doors open at 6.30pm.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get ahead with your Christmas shopping plus there’s a chance to win plenty of prizes in the raffle and silent auction. We will be selling a new range of our hand made and hand designed cushions, bags and accessories plus gorgeous gifts and the best scented candles around!

We’ve been visiting fabric shops and design shows for inspiration. Plenty of gorgeous teals and sea greens at the recent Design Centre Focus show at Chelsea Harbour. We can’t wait to start making some new products!

We are so excited to be back at Ritherdon Road Street Party on Sunday 11 June from 11am – 5pm. It’s always a lovely, family friendly event with plenty of stalls, food & drink, live music and lots of independent shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. This year it’s bigger than ever but still retains that important community atmosphere. We will be selling our spring range of tote bags, cushions and zipper pouches plus a selection of our new, curated pieces.

The Turtle & Teal stall will be opposite the French Cafe – do pop along and say hello!

Thanks to everyone who came to the recent house sale at our lovely neighbour’s home in Balham. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather with drinks and shopping in the garden. We nearly sold out of our cushion range and we’re busy making more in time for our next events at the Ritherdon Road Street Party on Sunday 11 June.

We will be setting up a mailing list very soon so you can keep up-to-date with all our house sales and local events.

Just a quick note to let you know we will be at the lovely Ritherdon Road Street Party in Balham SW17 on Sunday 11 June, 11am-5pm. There will be plenty of stalls, street food and drink, a barbecue and live music. All the independent shops along Ritherdon Road will be open too.

Turtle & Teal at SoLo Fair Brixton

solo-craft-fair-april-2017 We are busy hand crafting, making and curating cushions, bags and accessories ready for the SoLo Craft Fair at POW (Prince of Wales) 467 Brixton Road, on Sunday 2 April. It’s our first time at a SoLo South London craft fair and we are super-excited. There will be over 40 craft stalls, workshops, kids’ activities, live music and a bar. Yes, pretty much everything you could possible need on a Sunday afternoon in Spring! It’s open from midday until 4pm – free admission and free popcorn! How good is that?

Teal is the colour!

teal-chair-the-makers-place Move over grey – teal is set to be one of the colours for 2017! There’s a big focus on blues and greens (or greenery to be precise!). Here’s a useful feature on the Top 10 interior design trends for 2017 from The Maker Place.

Teal is a majestic colour all by itself but its beauty is its ability to complement and contrast with many other colours – terracotta, nude, coral, russet, shades of blue and green and even pops of pink and orange. Grey goes beautifully with teal as does purple and certain shades of yellow.

We will be using our love of teal in our makes for 2017 (with the occasional hint of turtle too!!). And we’ll be adding some new pieces to the Turtle & Teal portfolio – perhaps a lovely vase, bowl, jug, plant holder or beautiful object d’art – in, you guessed it, teal or one of teal’s complementary colours.
